Making Space For Work
For a decade, I shared my work through Feather & Wild.
What began as a small creative business grew into something I was incredibly proud of. It allowed me to connect with people, build a collection of work, and make a living doing what I love.
But over time, I found myself wanting something different.
Not a complete change of direction, but a return to the reason I started creating in the first place.
Northern Art House has been created as a space where the work can sit at the centre of everything. A place to share paintings, drawings, sketchbook studies and ongoing explorations inspired by the landscapes of the North. While Northern Art House currently serves as a home for my own work, I hope that over time it will also become a space to champion and share the work of other artists and makers whose creativity is inspired by the North.
My work has always been shaped by time spent outdoors on hills, trails, open moorland and beneath vast northern skies. Increasingly, I'm interested in capturing not just what a place looks like, but how it feels. The atmosphere before rain arrives, the quietness of an empty path, the memory of a landscape long after leaving it behind.
This journal will become a place to share that process. Some posts will focus on new work, others on sketchbooks, walks, ideas and the landscapes that continue to inspire me.
Thank you for being here at the beginning of this next chapter.
